I have worked both face to face and online with the under-fives, pre-school and school children, adolescents, and adults. I have worked with individuals and groups and have specialised in autism, learning difficulties, mental health including anxiety, depression, relationships, schizophrenia, autism, trauma, self-harm, bereavement, special educational needs, high complex needs, ADHD, emotional and physical abuse, life changes amongst others.
I will work with you in a person-centred, authentic, safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space. The sessions are whatever you need them to be talking or using lots of creative methods which Dramatherapy uses including art, painting, drawing, play, games props. objects, story and creating your story myth, fairytales, puppets, masks, music, movement, devising and creating performance, body work, games, puppets, creating costumes and characters, story, myths and legends, fairy stories fabrics, devising, role play, creating pieces of art there are so many tools and methods that can be used and explored together in the sessions.
The sessions are a space where you can explore and work through whatever you need using the methods above, they can all be used through your creativity to express your feelings and work through any issues or emotions whatever they may be. I can assess your needs and we can adjust and change the sessions as they progress. All the sessions are confidential, safe and I follow HCPC and BADth guidelines and adhere to best practice and clinical safeguarding.
My main aim is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship and to tailor therapy sessions to your specific therapeutic needs. I can offer an imaginative way of working online to use creativity to work through any issues using my experience over the past six years of practice. Creativity can be used to express emotions by not always needing to talk this is something that can also be done online and can be adapted and built to address your specific set of needs.
You are unique and what we do together is unique. The key for me as a therapist is trust this may take a few sessions but this is something we can work through together. Everyone is creative in their own way through expression and exploration, and this can enable you to access feelings and emotions and behaviours that sometimes we cannot directly speak. The sessions will be whatever you bring, talking or using your creativity which is in all of us. I am a guide through your story and journey and it takes as long as it takes maybe a minimum of 12 sessions but could be a year or more or whatever is needed for you.
